Sailors it is time to start thinking about cleaning the Spanish Moss off your boats and preparing for Spring dinghy racing.  Sailors can now pre-register on our website for the 2020 Spring Dinghy Series, or click the following link  Spring Dinghy Registration.  We expect classes of MC Scows, Sunfish, Optis, Bics, and possibly VX-1 or Evos to be out on the race course this season.   Other one-design classes of three or more boats are welcome.

The Club owns several Sunfish sailboats that members can use.  We also would like to thank Gus McSweeney for generously donating his MC Scow to BCSB Junior Sailing.

Be sure to mark your calendar for March 7, at 3:00 pm, to attend our Sailors Meeting/Get together.  This meeting isn’t just for sailors.  It’s for everyone who wants to know what’s happening in 2020.   Anyone who has a possible interest in sailing or in learning more about racing is encouraged to attend.

March 29 might seem like a long way off, however, we are now making preparations and want to make sure we have race committee volunteers on-board to start the season.   We have scheduled 8 weeks of dinghy racing for the Spring.  The schedule is now up on Sign-up Genius and ready for you to start selecting dates.

New and existing Racing Volunteers (aka River Rats) are invited to start signing up on Signup Genius.  This is an opportunity to earn volunteer hours while spending a day on the water.  For a description of all the Race Committee positions click here  Race Volunteer Positions.

On February 29 at 9:30AM, John Barber will be conducting a Race Volunteer (aka River Rat) training seminar at the club.  This seminar is open to everyone – please consider attending.
