Our first week of Spirit of America is fast approaching – Spring Break! Registration for the week of April 15-19 is open – soa.ezregister.com.
Please consider volunteering for Spirit of America! We are looking for volunteers to instruct middle school aged students in power boating, sailing, and paddle sports. Our “on the river” times are Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday after testing is complete, and all day Thursday and Friday. We aim to get each student out on the water 2 times in each discipline (sail, power, paddle). Volunteers are the heart and backbone of our program. Our program couldn’t exist without the support of fabulous volunteers who are give up their time to share their passion for the water.
In an effort to get ready for the class, I’d like to hold an equipment clean up on Friday, March 22nd @ 3pm. This will be a day to make sure that the equipment is ready and all the parts are accounted for and functional. It will give us a chance to shake off the dust (and leaves!). Many hands make light work. Please lend a hand if possible. 😉
We are also holding a Volunteer Orientation on Saturday, March 30th @ 1pm. If you have been hesitating on volunteering, are completely new, or maybe want to try out volunteering in a new discipline, please come out so we can answer any questions and familiarize you with the curriculum and equipment. If you are a veteran volunteer, please come out so you can share your wisdom and we can update you on any changes for 2019!
If you haven’t volunteered for us before and are interested, please fill out our Volunteer Questionnaire and Waiver so we can get you into our system – https://goo.gl/forms/8J9ypX3fenqRzr1w1.
Thank you again for your support!
