I’m happy to announce the results of the 2020 BYSC Membership Survey are now available.

The survey shows the areas where we are doing well, as well as the areas that are important to members. “We should celebrate and enjoy our many successes at our BYSC. This club has been here since 1967 starting as a small gathering place, evolving into what we now enjoy today. It is a vibrant, congenial place the founders would be proud of,” it states.

Thanks to all of you who took the time to participate in the focus groups and/or survey. The Survey Team indicated our members’ participation was very enthusiastic and helpful — and the Survey Team, the Board and I thank you for that.

Speaking of the Survey Team, we all need to give its members a big pat on the back for not only creating the survey but also putting in the time to create a report that shows the results in a succinct, easy to understand format.

In the next several weeks, the Survey Team will host a few follow up meetings via Zoom, each limited to 50 participants. These will be opportunities for interested members to ask questions or discuss the findings with the Survey Team.

The meetings will be held 6 p.m. Monday Aug. 24 Thursday Aug. 27 and 6 p.m.. Monday Aug. 31. Sign up here.

Look for sign up notices shortly in your email and on the calendar. I encourage those of you with an interest in the future of the club to participate in one of those meetings.

It was exciting and reassuring to see that the survey indicates that our membership is generally happy with our club. We plan to continue to build on that wherever we can.

As in any organization, though, there are also areas where the club can improve. The leadership of the club and the various committees within the club will be able to use the Survey Report as a tool to focus on the things our membership finds most important.

If there is a subject within the report that interests you and you would like to further get involved in bettering our club, please reach out to me or Jerry so we can put you in touch with the proper people.

Thanks again to all who have participated in this process!

Kind Regards,
Trisha Gamble
