Dear Members,

Have you noticed that bright yellow ball in the sky? Isn’t it delightful to see the sun again? The beautiful days and beloved BYSC sunsets are back! Spring is just around the corner and our property will be the best its ever been by the time summer is upon us.

The Bulkhead Project is underway. If you desire some free entertainment, stop by the club during a weekday to watch the crew at work. Please read the summary by Frank Pontious detailing what is happening with this work.  He is our tireless supervisor of this exciting endeavor that will literally expand the waterfront property of our club by up to 15 feet. Frank outlines opportunities for members to have a positive effect on the project budget. He also paints a clear picture of extensive work of this endeavor.

With the new deck and soon to be completed new sea wall, we all will be enjoying the property more in the near future. We encourage you to use your creativity as you make plans to gather. Social distancing is still the norm. Steak night will happen on March 10th and the annual Members Meeting and Oyster Roast is planned for March 19th. In addition, we encourage you to make plans on your own and make the most of our beautiful surroundings. Please contact our new general manager, Jim Thomas, for approval of any organized group gatherings he can seek approval of board members when needed. We will entertain all ideas and requests and put your event on the calendar to ensure safe use of the property

Speaking of the new general manager, he seems to be thoroughly enjoying his new responsibilities at the club. Please read his first letter to the membership to find out more about how he is settling into the day to day routine.

Here’s to better times and sunshine,

Brooks Thomas
