I think this mild winter is almost over! But watching out the club back porch you certainly wouldn’t have known we even had one with all of the sailing taking place. From the twice a week high school practices to the younger team practicing on Optis and O’Pen Skiffs, the club has been very busy!
Our High School team has been performing well and is solidly in the standings for qualification for the SAISA District Championship. If you haven’t had a chance to root them on or see a high school regatta, you are missing out! However, you have one more chance to see them, this time at our home club as BYSC is hosting the North Points #7 regatta on March 21. Come on out to see some of the most competitive sailing in the Lowcountry.
The Opti & O’Pen Skiff team recently returned from the 200+ boat Valentine’s Day Regatta in St Petersburg with a good performance. They have now switched to O’Pen Skiffs with their eyes on the North American Championship in Jensen Beach, FL March 27-29.
Our summer Learn to Sail program registration is now open. Follow the link here to get your child registered. Spots are filling up quickly:
Finally, thank you for all of your support the last 18 months. Our board held our elections in February and we are excited to announce that David Dixon will be taking over as the President of Beaufort Community Sailing & Boating. I’m not sure that there’s anyone reading this that doesn’t know who David is or will disagree that the organization is in very strong hands going forward! David has been on the board for many years, but please welcome him to the President position!
See you on the water,
Chris Duer, for the BCSB Board of Directors
