Last week we talked about the sailing our juniors are doing. Well, we have more great news to report!

Our High School team just finished up theIr points regatta at Lake Lanier. A 7th in A division and a 3rd in B division was enough to secure 3rd overall out of 14 schools! We are very close to qualifying for the district championship in the spring. Keep sailing fast!

Our O’Pen Skiff team just got back from the US Sailing Junior Olympic Sailing Festival at the US Sailing Center in Martin County, FL. Our own Dane Turner was 3rd overall with Bella Duer finishing 7th overall and Lachlan Duer finishing 8th overall. In fact, the Beaufort and Charleston contingent took 5 of the top 9 spots! Preparation for the O’Pen Skiff North American Championships is well underway!

Preliminary results are posted for the SAYRA Jr Grand Prix Championship of 2019. Until they are final, we’ll remain hush, but it looks like we’ll have 5 of our young athletes on the podium in 4 classes!! We are very excited for how well our BYSC team is performing!

Finally, mark your calendars for the Annual Oyster Roast & Auction on January 1, 2020.
